What Did I Tell You?
In my recent posting “Muslim Love” I wrote about how Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip was an exercise in futility because it wouldn’t stop the terrorists from murdering Israelis. Sometimes I hate being right.
Terrorists have renewed their attacks against Israel. The suicide bombings have begun again. The only land concession that will end the terror attacks is the complete dissolution of Israel. This cannot, and will not happen.
The Palestinians and their terrorist allies have shown their true colors time and again. It’s time to put and end to the terror. It’s time to lend military support to our Israeli friends.

It can just as easily be argued that the Israeli government has demonstrated time and again that, publicity stunts to the contrary, they are fully intent on incorporating as much of the occupied territories as they can keep hold of.
Both sides are fond of casting the conflict as a clash between good and evil, but it's really a border dispute -- a long and brutal turf war, in which one side has tanks and airplanes, the other side has rocks and their own bodies, and both sides believe that God backs their cause.

Thank you for your comment.
By no means pay for someone to lie to you, but I cannot help but be confused as to why you would pay to see any movie that is not 100% true, if you would not 'pay to be lied to'. I recently paid to watch the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie. It was completely false. Does this then mean I paid to be lied to? or does it rather mean I paid to be told a story? Or perhaps I was entertained by way of the oldest form of entertainment there is - story telling.
But I understand you point nonetheless. I just would rather know what the movie is about (because I have seen it), than to go off of hear-say from other people who have seen it...that is all.
I have heard rumor that some churches are withdrawing support from Israel, do you know anything of this...I cannot find it.

Some liberal churches have chosen to favor the Palestinians. Why they would do this I cannot imagine since the Bible clearly states that Israel belongs to the Jews. What I can say is that more than likely they are simply sympathetic to the Palestinians simnply because they are poor. Many people blame Israel for this alothough anyone who knows what's actually happening over there knows that the Palestinian's plight is fully the reponsibility of the PLO and Yasser Arafat in particular who, while he was alive, took everything from his own people, greedily squirreled away relief funds for himself and then used them to finance terrorists rather building up his own people.
Like I said before, let's relocate evey Palestininan to another Arab country of their choice. They have no place running a rebellion and terrorism anyway.

Catastrophile, I know the Israeli's are fully intent on keepin as much of their land as possible. The own it lawfully. No part of Israel is occupied territory, rather Palestine is. This is obvious according to every internatinal law regarding the wrs the territories were won in, and the Geneva Convention. By the logic that many people are using to call so much of Israel "occupied territory" the state of Hawaii would also be "occupied territory". Would this justify native Hawaiians staking out paert of the state and murduring everyone else around them without mercy? I think not.

I'm not sure where you get the claim that the occupied territories are legally Israel's to keep. The US expanded by contract and voluntary annexation, not by war. The legal niceties were paid lip service to, at least.
North American tribes were offered treaties and compacts, a few of which have actually been honored, before they were driven off their land. Hawai'i was attacked by a private army, and a new government was established there, before it was annexed amicably.
What was the lawful means by which the occupied territories changed hands? Who signed them away? If there were some legalistic means by which Israel could claim rights to the land, they wouldn't need to play this shell game at all. They have overwhelming force available to pacify the land, and only the principles of international law prevent them from doing so.
Most importantly: I'm not advocating the "right" of anybody to murder others. But the much-publicized acts of the terrorists are only one side of the story. Palestinians have now lived their entire lives under this occupation, moving through military checkpoints to get from home to school or work, mocked and humiliated by foreign soldiers on a daily basis. If you lived under such a regime, would you stop to consider the historical and legal justifications for the state of affairs, or would you fight back?
Terrorism has been used as a justification to occupy and colonialize territory for a century, by all sorts of countries. Remember the Maine? The Mideast problem is nothing new; a score of aggravating particulars make it much more vicious and intractable than previous colonial turf wars, but the model is one we're all too familiar with.

The lawful means by which Israel expanded its borders are through the defeat of invading armies from hostile neighboring countries. They were invaded, they beat their enemies back and kept the land they won in the rocess. All perfectly legal and honored throughout history.

That's interesting logic, which I must point out is not the official position of the Israeli government. What, then, is the legal status of the inhabitants of the land? Are they prisoners of war? Refugees? Citizens of Israel?

Israel granted the full citezenship. the so-called "Palestinians" are all actually Iraeli citezens. They are only cut off by a combination of choice, PLO demagogery and despotism, and the rest of Israel protecting themselves from the terrorist they harbor.

Terrorists preying before a burning synagogue. It's a Good thing Arafat ain't around to see it. Yet, it is hard to be outraged at that, when Israel demolished everthing else.
Appeasement is a policy doomed to failure, especially regarding Palestinians.
