Congressional Rip-off
Okay, SOMEONE was listening in when I called in to a radio show a month ago.
Illegal immigration was the topic. I called in and suggested that perhaps the only way to get anything done about illegal immigration was to make a bill that gave both sides everything they wanted so everyone could be pissed off about stuff they don't want being part of a bill that also did what they wanted. Now Congres has gone and done exactly that. It took tem 600 pages to outline what I could in 2 minutes of talking; but what else should we expect from a bunch of lawyers?
It will never pass, but it's valiant and thoroughly misguided effort.

lol, credit? I do not take credit for the stupidity of others in any way. When I made that call I did it as a satire on the immigration impasse and said up front that it would piss everyone off, and I was right ;)

Well since politicians are basically clowns they probably jumped at any idea that was partly in jest.

Even though I think you're cool and agree with a lot of stuff you say, I would disagree with you on this for three reasons.
1. What talk show did you call into? Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity? Or Air America? Oh yeah. Air America was shut down. (Good thing.)
2. Who said you had a bunch of influence? You? Or Congress?
3. You don't have any evidence to back up your claim.
Maybe if you call into more radio shows, you will actually be listened to. Or start a blog and rant and rave about stuff...oh yeah, that's what you do.
