Putrid Anti-War Hate
Dear soldier,
Have a great time in the war, and have a great time dieing in the war.
From Miguel
p.s. DIE
Joshua Sparling, a soldier wounded in Iraq and currently being treated in Walter Reed Army Medical Center received this piece of hateful spew as a greeting Card. I do not know or care about the true identity of the treasonous (expletive deleted) who wrote this piece of trash, and covered the outside with patriotic stamps and stickers to make it appear enticing until it was opened. I care about the enormous group of people who have been spewing these sentiments about our brave servicemen and women ever since the war started.
This is a hateful tactic of the far left with a long history in the US. I spoke to a lady today who regaled me with a story of how, when her husband was in Vietnam, she received a phone call telling her that her husband had been killed in action. Fortunately for her she grew up as a military brat and knew that such notices were always hand delivered by a uniformed soldier. I have heard reports of similar phone calls being made to the families of servicemen in this war.
This is what I am talking about when I say that the left has been giving aid and comfort to the enemy. They actively seek to undermine troop morale. They make incessant demands that we capitulate to the terrorists and leave Iraq before we finish our work there. They present an active and highly visible schism in America that our enemies look to for hope and comfort. They show the terrorists that what they do works on some people.
This must end.
Have a great time in the war, and have a great time dieing in the war.

What proof do you have that this letter was sent by a Liberal, what proof do you have that this letter was sent at all?
By Ranando, at 7:03 AM
I called Walter Reed Medical Center and spoke to a friend of mine that has been a surgeon there for over 20 years and asked him about this letter.
He called me back and told me that he and anyone else that he spoke to knows anything about this letter, just what I thought.
By Ranando, at 7:18 AM
Go to Michelle Malkin.com and you will find photos of it.
This letter has been in news radio and should hit TV news, at least FOX News fairly soon. I missed Hannity and Colmes last night so it may have already been there.
As for wheter or not it was sent by a liberal; name one conservative who would send such a disgusting letter to a soldier fighting in the war.
By Daniel Levesque, at 7:21 AM
I'll stick with someone who is there at Walter Reed, this letter is a FAKE.
I was starting to have questions until you mentioned Michelle Malkin.
In order to get something like this in the news, I can think of many Pro-Bush people who would send this to a soldier, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and many others.
Did you notice that I didn't say Conservative, that's because most Conservatives don't believe in this type of Nonsense.
By Ranando, at 8:08 AM
Oh, and Ranando,
Have your friend speak to SPC Sparling. He's the one who got the letter.
By Daniel Levesque, at 8:09 AM
Will do............
By Ranando, at 8:20 AM
I just got off the phone with Walter Reed and spoke to the Public Affairs office, they have no comment and have no idea about any letter to SPC Joshua Sparling.
Like I ask before, prove it.
By Ranando, at 8:32 AM
RedundantO,
Using your standards – what proof do you have that you called WRMC and talked to a “friend”? Sounds like more of your fantasy world grandstanding to me. So like you stated; “prove it!”
But lets just say for the sake of argument that the letter is not true. Do you deny that the left in this country has resorted to such tactics? That’s what this post is all about, the low-down tactics used by some of the low-life, history challenged, know nothing, anti-war, libweeny, pussies that prance around looking for their next protest issue.

I don't know if this is a valide news story or not, all I can tell you is this: All the progressives that I know would NEVER say such a thing to a soldier. We don't wish death upon anyone.
What we want is them to come home soon and safely and not to have to commit any war crimes whilst following their leaders' orders. We want the best for them and all the progressives/liberals I know would join you in condemning this comment if it were legitimate.
for what it's worth...
By Dan Trabue, at 8:54 AM
daniel, just a request...can you write a piece about Clark, the former US atty gen (i think) who is over in iraq as one of saddam's defense attorneys? i haven't seen anybody touch that one yet...but if that's not "giving aid & comfort to the enemy", i don't know what is....
BoUnCeS!! LibbY!
By Libby, at 9:05 AM
Ranando, I consider Michelle Malkin more reliable than some anonymous character online.
This is disgusting. I don't care if it was sent by a Republican, Democrat, Nazi, Green or whatever.
By Rebekah, at 9:46 AM
Libby, re: Clark representing Saddam:
What would you suggest instead? A public hanging, no trial needed? Is a fair trial not part and parcel of our Republic?
By Dan Trabue, at 10:07 AM
It's a good post, Daniel.
I agree with RedundantO: Renando has no proof of anything. He just comes in here to irritate and agrivate. It's so blatantly obvious. His opinion means nothing to me because he is always grandstanding. He "has lunch with Bush at the ranch." Right. He has his own private jet.... Right. And if true, what does it matter? Who cares? He's trying to impress and if he really was as rich, prominant and well-known as he claims to be he wouldn't be bragging about it because he would know that no one would believe him! Phonies are so pathetic.
Merry Christmas to him anyway, and everyone else here, and to you, a good and thoughtful person especially. Also, Blessings for a great new year!
By Gayle, at 11:06 AM
Ranando, what proof do you have that you have a friend at Walter Reed? What proof do you have that you have a friend? The sentement that was in that letter is well documented.
By Dr. Phat Tony, at 11:36 AM
Hey, Gayle, check out the "Religion of Peace" post. You won't believe it - Ranando is a SDA just like me! What a coincidence! He's such a character - I mentioned my denomination and he wrote in claiming that he'd attended a well-known Seventh-day Adventist university in California, and that he'd "attended SDA schools all my life." Sure. Rest assured, I don't know any Adventists that would go around making a troll of themselves on blogs and using profanity (to a girl.) This guy is getting a little irritating.
By MJ, at 12:07 PM
WOW, amazing.
By Ranando, at 12:35 PM
No liberal would send hate mail to a wounded soldier, Daniel. Being against the war means we want soldiers NOT to die. We want them to come home and defend our country instead of dying overseas for Bush's ignorant ideology.
Try using an actual news source instead of a rightwing hate-monger like Michelle Malkin.
By Samurai Sam, at 2:11 PM
I'm sorry but this is unconscionable. If you are going to protest do it anywhere but where wounded soldiers are. The person who did this has no heart, soul or conscience. This is just wrong.
By Dionne, at 2:42 PM
Ranando,
Do you really expect anyone to believe someone who uses a clown to conceal his true identity? In case you haven't figured it out already, I don't care who you say you are. What matters is that you have the ability to present your argument or view about something with logic and reason. Try it--you might like it. So far, you have avoided some interesting questions asked in response to your second comment. We just want you to "prove it"--that you did indeed talk to someone at WRMC. Your response was, and I quote, "Wow, amazing." Hmmmmmm. Your tactics are in line with the typical liberal avoidance of "real questions". Not surprising, though. Did you say your friend is a surgeon? Do you really expect us to believe that a medical surgeon at an Army hospital actually took time out of his no doubt busy schedule to return a clown's phone call? And, if no one else at WRMC knows anything about this card, then how do we know about it? And, yes, I know some people who, sadly, would stoop to this level and send a card like this--interestingly enough they are Lieberals. I also have friends in the military (some served in Iraq). They are the most selfless people I know. And they do what they do for us--so we can argue about politics on blogs!! :) And in case you didn't realize it, our military is all volunteers. We should thank them for the blanket of freedom they provide us with--not send demeaning hate messages like this card--whether or not you agree with the Commander-in-Chief. Also, you don't seem to care how this card affected this soldier. He is injured, you know. Did you think about that? No, probably not. Liberals say that conservatives have no heart. Really?!?!?! Looks like you don't have one. :( So sad. I'm sure the card will make its way to news, probably FOX, Rush, or Sean Hannity. So, if you really wanna know if it is true, just pay attention to the news. Like my grandmother used to say, "It will all come out in the wash!"

By Crazy Daisy, at 3:04 PM
First of all, Lisa@2Babes says she took the picture at Walter Reed. I don't agree with her on much, but I do have to assume she's not lying.
Beyond that, I've touched on this (absurd, IMO) assumption that this card was crafted by some anti-war activist (as well as your conservative/liberal laundry list, Daniel) in a post on RedThink versus BlueThink.
By catastrophile, at 3:11 PM
This card has already made it onto the Tony Snow show, the Sean Hannity show, and the Lars Larson show. That's how I first learned about it yeaterday. It's just radio, but TV will come soon enough.
Oh, and for photographic proof of liberals who are saying exactly what is in this card, openly and VERY publicly go to the following website.

By Daniel Levesque, at 3:13 PM
There may be SOME liberals who would express such hatred, but not most. Just like SOME conservatives are racist and misogynist, doesn't mean all conservatives are.
By Dan Trabue, at 3:23 PM
Daniel, I'm sure you can agree that there's a big difference between some protesters who might say extreme things in opposing the war and the plot you're suggesting here.
The idea here is that somebody either imitated a child's writing, or put a child up to writing this card, for what purpose exactly? To demoralize one injured soldier?
Versus the possibility that this was the act of one irreverent and disrespectful child without a firm grasp on the consequences and implication. Like I pointed out at 2Babes, for kids today "dieing" means you go back to the beginning of the level and have to start over again.
By catastrophile, at 3:30 PM
I am sure we will find out soon enough if this whole thing is fabricated or not. Seems the libs currently corner that market on fabrication with the likes of Michael Moore and Dan Rather. If untrue, I expect conservative reporters to say it is just that, unlike their counterparts who think anything anti-Bush must be true, even if it cannot be proven.
Hey, what's with the clown get up anyway? Is this a subtle message to say what many of us already thought about Howard Dean, Dingy Harry Reid, and Michael Moore?
By Rick's Corner, at 4:28 PM
Heh.
Wasn't John Gacy a clown?
Is that actually a pic of him?
Just curious...
By The Conservative UAW Guy, at 7:20 PM
Conservative UAW guy: I got a really good laugh out of that comment.
By Dionne, at 7:41 PM
Ok, I did not want to create a 'pile on the clown' trend, I just wanted to find out whats up with this.
It would be nice if the terrorists and insurgents who wear that black gear to hide their faces would don this getup.
By Rick's Corner, at 4:59 AM
Cats, Christmas Trees, Guns and Sean Hannity are OK but Clowns are not?
Interesting.
By Ranando, at 5:29 AM
I didn't see this anywhere on TV last night, anywhere.
By Ranando, at 7:07 AM
There, is that better?
By Ranando, at 7:28 AM
Last night I had dinner with my dad. He was in the Navy and at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked. We were talking about WWII and Iraq and he said something that I feel is important:
He asked, "Do you know the difference between Pearl Harbor attack and the 911 attack?"
"After Pearl Harbor we went after the people who did it."
Remember Pearl Harbor!
By Ranando, at 7:54 AM
Ranando,
Actually, that is a lot more respectable than a clown. Perhaps the attacks on your avatar will stop now.
Phantom,
I won't be banning anyone just now as I have yet to see someone go qute that far here yet. Ranando did come com mighty close during that foulness contest he instigated a while back.
Someday someone will go too far and he/she will be banned on the spot.
By Daniel Levesque, at 8:30 AM
You boogerhead!
(Did that do it, DL?)
By Dan Trabue, at 8:59 AM
LOL.
No.
By Daniel Levesque, at 10:51 AM
"After Pearl Harbor we went after the people who did it."
We declared war against Japan and Germany. I suppose using the same reasoning, someone could say "Germany didn't do it", but that's, well, stupid. Whether officially or not, they were allies. Same now.
By Rebekah, at 2:38 PM
Germany had nothing at all to do with Pearl Harbor. Our war with Germany was about saving Europe.
Two wars, two enemies, not connected.
By Ranando, at 2:46 PM
Germany and Japan also had an alliance going on -- a real one, not "we found this one kraut working on Japanese territory, so we're gonna pretend they're allies."
